Submitted applications on the dot, yet Common App says I submitted on the 16th?

I submitted my applications to three all-girls schools before 12:00 tonight. They were due on January 15th. I don't know why common app says I submitted my supplements + application on the 16th, instead of the 15th. I'm really scared and nervous - will they disregard my application for being late? should I contact the school directly? I wasn't exactly procrastinating my application, but I know it looks that way. I've been going through a very difficult family situation and health problems that have been deterring the college process. I really don't want my application to be disregarded, plus I hit submit BEFORE the 12:00 deadline yet common app still says I submitted it on the 16th. I'm really frustrated with this and frankly, I'm panicking. Someone please help and try to bring my sanity back. Thank you.

Did you send it according to EST? Common App works on EST (except for the dashboard which works on GMT).

I believe I did submit it on EST. I contacted Smith’s admissions officer and told her about the situation. Do you still think they’d consider my application late?

I am not sure. It depends on the universities you applied to. Are you looking at the dashboard, by the way? It’s way ahead of U.S. time. If you want the correct EST time you submitted your app, follow these steps:

Colleges Tab > Click on the college you applied to > Click Review & Submit Application > The time stamp here is the most accurate.

If it’s after 12:00 EST, then it’s late, but some universities may still accept it.

Omg thank you so much! Two of the three schools says I submitted it on 1/15, but one of them says (and sadly, this one also happens to be my top choice of all three) I submitted it on 1/16. I contacted all three admissions office regarding this. I really hope they don’t disregard my application for being one minute late, I think that would be kind of ridiculous.

There’s a chance they may still accept it. In the mean time, don’t fret and send them lots of emails.

Good luck!

Why would they want to turn down a perfectly good application? No one is working at this hour anyway. You should be fine.

Unless they plan on refunding your application fee, they are going to take your application.

Yes, the dashboard time is different than the the actual times. My daughter learned about a potential fit school last minute and decided to put in an app. The dashboard said she submitted on the 16th but if you go into “my colleges” and hit the preview tabs, you see that it was submitted on the 15th long before midnight in any US time zone.

I think the dashboard is on GMT. I submitted some apps at 9-something that say 1/16.
