im excited. wooo
:)
now...onto housing...hm...any recommendations?

yay! Wait honey, you first need to register your residency then get your U-mail THEN housing!

and i couldn’t make it to spring insight…
can anyone fill me in?

my residency is registered, and i’m waiting on my umail, but i want to get info on housing so i can decide…any advice?

I got none, i’m in the same boat as you at the moment with deciding.

yeah, i’m leaning towards san nic, but hearing good things about san rafael, so im really confused.
did you go to spring insight?

Are you a transfer? San Rafael is only for transfers. I did go, I only went to the housing prez. cus I got there late. Go to the housing questions board, there is A TON of info.

^San Raf is usually just for upperclassmen/transfers.

Ahh! sorry, forgot about the upperclassmen XD thanks imgoing2college. But no, its not open to us freshman.

I wonder if we can room there as sophomores…?

i’m rooming there as a 2nd year. but it “is” open to freshmen. you just have to specifically request it, even better if you find someone who wants it as well as it will bump up your priority a bit. but in san raf, upperclassmen and transfer have priority as they had to apply and were granted a room and signed a legal contract. if there are rooms available after the upperclassmen and transfers have been housed, there is still a need for freshmen housing, some freshmen will get san raf as a dorm. currently (08-09), there is about 2 floors dedicated to freshmen in san raf due to the sheer number of freshmen who decided to matriculate at ucsb last year.

i’ve found out more!
san nic, anacapa, santa cruz, manzanita–> my preference list. phew.

About how long does it take if I submit my SIR by mail?

im gonna be a sophomore, gonna live at San Rafael with other 2nd years

Clee09, it took them two days for me.
