Submitted Common App Supplement but I don't want to apply anymore

Hi,

About a month ago, I submitted the supplements for UMiami and Cornell through the Common App. I don't want to apply to these two schools anymore. The Common App isn't letting me remove those colleges from my list.

I just invited my counselor to the Common App to write recommendation letters for me. I don't want him to have to deal with those two schools for no reason. I have like 6 other schools on the Common App, and that's already a lot. Plus, those two schools are cluttering my Common App space. ^_^

What should I do?

just forget about them, see your counselor tomorrow and tell him to not write for those two schools, if you can’t remove them, the colleges will call your applications incomplete and will not process them anyways

thanks.

by the way, will my counselor have to write multiple forms depending on the schools i add? He’s a nice guy and I don’t want to load him with an arrogant amount of Common App selections.

my counselor wrote one form and just photocopied it for each school I was applying to.

You may want to email the college to say you remove your application, so you don’t get a rejection letter. (Say, for some reason, you apply for future/transfer)

It would be courteous to call the admission office and let them know, so you don’t waste their time trying to track you down.

Agree with previous posts about calling the admissions offices to let them know you will not be applying - very courteous and professional.

With respect the the counselor section - my S’s counselor photocopied most, but she did fill out Brown’s differently with more detail-specific info she thought an ivy would look for.

Thanks, I’ll contact those schools.

And about the counselor recommendation… what if he’s doing it online?

do we have to pay the application fee if we decide not to apply to that college anymore after sending in the supplement?
