Submitted Common Application 1 minute late !!

So Jan 5th was the deadline for Pepperdine’s application and I missed the deadline by 1 minute @-) . Do you guys think that they will just ignore my application since it did not make it on time? What should I do? Should I email the admissions office?? Sorry guys really freaking out bc I actually want to attend Pepperdine.

I’m not sure there’s anything you can do.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Find a serious Plan B.

If you get something back that your application has been accepted, then you’re ok. If not, then you’ve blown the deadline and there’s nothing you can do. Question: if Pepperdine is your top choice, why did you wait until the last possible minute to submit your application?

Oh no! I can’t imagine how stressed out you must have felt :frowning: Hopefully it ended up going through, and if not, hopefully the admissions office will be empathetic and understanding towards your predicament. I’ve had to call them quite a lot over the past few months for my own application, and they’ve always been extremely gracious and helpful. Praying for you and hope that it all works out!!

Reach out to Pepperdine. Some schools are strict, others are flexible. Rather than worry, go ahead and ask. That also lets them know your interest is sincere even if app was technically late.

Hey @vdulemba1 and thanks for your reply. You said you applied to Pepperdine right? Has Pepperdine sent you any emails confirming your admission? Because I’ve only gotten the email confirmation from the common application. If you did receive an email from Pepperdine how long did it take for them to send it?

@tryhard89 Yes!! I am a transfer applicant for the Fall term of 2018 and I sent in my common app on September 2nd (I know…a little overzealous). But after just checking through my email, I got a confirmation on Sept. 2 reaffirming that “my common application had been submitted,” and another email on Sept. 18 from Pepperdine telling me that they “received my application.” Finally, on Sept. 25, Pepperdine emailed me a link to my app tracker which notified me of all the ‘complete’ or ‘incomplete’ items that were missing from my file that would be necessary for them to review my application (such as transcripts or academic reccomendation). I’ve been in contact with them very much this past week as my updated transcripts from this previous semester have been showing as incomplete in my file even though I sent them, and their staff reminded me that even if something is in their system it might not be fully processed yet due to the overload of applications they receive during this time of year! So do not fret or give up hope! Have you spoken to their admissions office yet?

p.s. sorry for any typos im about to fall asleep lol!

I just typed something out and posted it, then somehow managed to delete it right after lol!! Let’s try this again, @tryhard89 so I am a transfer applicant for the Fall 2018 term, and submitted my common app on Sept. 2 ( I know…a little overzealous). I receieved an email that following day from the common app website confirming that “I successfully submitted my application to Pepperdine.” Then, on Sept. 18, I opened an email from Pepperdine University admissions informing me that they had “receieved my application,” and finally, on Sept. 25, I was emailed a link from Pepperdine admissions that allowed me to access my app tracker. I’ve spoken with them on the phone quite a lot this week and they’ve let me know that even if something was sent in, it might take 4-6 weeks to fully process because their system is in overload during this time of year! So don’t fret or lose hope! Have you spoken to their admissions office?

P.S. sorry for any run-on’s or typos, I’m about to fall asleep lol!

@vdulemba1 yea, I actually did get in contact with the admission office and they told me not to worry about it bc the system was having problems and they had actually extended the deadline until today ( jan 8 ). After i called them i checked my email and noticed that Pepperdine sent me the email confirming my admission

God Bless!! @tryhard89 I knew it would work out for you!! (-: Keep us updated on how everything works out for you come March, I wish you ALL the best!

Got in to Pepperdine !
