Help? I accidentally filled out and submitted my fafsa information while trying to get a head start so once October 1st came I could just submit. But I think I submitted it for 2016-2017 and I don’t start college until 2017-2018. Is that really bad or will I be relatively okay and will they just ignore it?
Don’t worry. You just have to submit the correct form after Oct 1. No school will pull this form.
You did not submit it too early. You actually submitted it too late as it was for 2016-2017.
Actually, the 2016-2017 FAFSA can be submitted any time before June 2017 for students who are enrolled in college during the 2016-2017 school year.
To the OP…don’t fret. It gave you good practice doing the form.
Oh…and I do think you can port over the demographic information from the 2016-2017 form when you do the 2017-2018 form in a couple of weeks!
