I accidentally submitted my intent to enroll (I thought it would stop me to ask for my deposit before I could complete it). If I decided I wanted to go somewhere else, would I have to email CU to say I’m not going? I haven’t submitted the deposit. Sorry for the stupid question but I did something impulsive and I’m not sure about the consequences.
I imagine you could back out if you really want. Nevertheless, I think you should go to CU Boulder because it has so much to offer.
@chloe5cent Call and email admissions as soon as possible and explain what happened. I’m sure someone else has made a similar mistake in the past. No worries.
@chloe5cent how did this get resolved? My understanding is that confirming your intent to enroll is not binding and ou can back out at any time even after you submit a deposit. True?
Yes, of course you can back out at any time. It’s standard practice; waitlists wouldn’t work if students couldn’t register elsewhere while they wait. You just lose your deposit, but that’s not a concern if you never paid it. A simple email to clear up the error would be a courtesy, but probably isn’t even totally necessary.
Thanks everyone for your help and advice!
@redwoodcity I actually just ended up sticking with it and officially committing to CU! I assume it would’ve been fine if I had just emailed them had I not stuck with it though.
