Okay, so I just submitted my ED UPenn application (both parts) last night, and am waiting on recs to be submitted. My question, however, is what/when/how will I know about an interview? I know that Penn takes care of it after you submit your application and that you have to sign up for the Penn Portal Account (which I did). When should I expect to hear about scheduling an interview? How will I know? Has anyone who has applied before me been offered their interview yet? How did they inform you? Thanks.
Hey fellow Penn applicant!
I applied around a week ago, and no, even I havent received an interview offer. Don
t worry though, they say that interview offers come from mid oct to mid nov, so theres plenty of time for us to be notified.
I`m pretty sure offers come by email, so check it regularly.
@ShaunakK98 Thanks! Didn’t know that.
No problem!
Yes some interviewers contact applicants by email. Don’t forget to check your spam folder too…
Interviews start about the third week of October. But you could even be contacted the first week of November. Penn is making a big effort to ensure that all applicants receive an interview. If you do not get contacted by those times you might even get a very late interview by phone or Skype - Penn asked interviewers (in RD) last year at a late date to volunteer for some phone/Skype interviews. Penn’s recent email to me asked if I would be available for late interviews this year.
Good luck all. Easy for me to say, but breath deeply and relax. The interviews are really not that difficult. I cannot speak for all interviewers but most (if not all) want to like you, want to recommend you, want to keep it as stress free as possible. Once in a while an applicant will look very surprised at the end and say something to the effect that it actually was fun!.
How do you create a Penn Portal Account?
I think they send you an email with a link or information after you submit your application
Oh ok thanks
