Submitted my RD App. last weekend and now I am really nervous. Help?

Well guys,
I am glad to see the Dickinson board is getting some action. I love the school and recently it has become one of my top choices. When I first visited the campus it was just a consideration, but as I proceded through the admission process I have come to realized just how special Dickinson is. So now I am really nervous about whether or not I will be accepted. Normally I don't really like posting my stats on the CC just because most people really don't know what they are talking about and judge everyone too harshly. But givin the fact that I don't really know the type of people that apply to Dickinson I can not really access my chances of getting in. I was reading some of the posts and most of you seem to have a good idea of where most applicants stand, so could you guys please access my chances???

White Middle class female from Maryland
I am a first generation college attendee and would qualify from for a lot of need-based aid...if that is a factor
I go to a public high school that is some what competitive...about 70% of the students either go to the local cc or just don't go to college. However, every year at least one or two students get into Ivy's. Therefore, I don't really know whether the school is competitive or not.

GPA
3.4-3.5/4.0
3.9-4.0/5.0
SAT
600,620,640=1860
I am in the 10-11% percent of the class out of 430 students.
10APs-this is why my uw GPA is so low.
I will probably major in Biology

EC's
Latin Club-President 10th, 11th, 12th
Next Step organization- Information Advisor 11th
It's Academic-competition Alternate 11th, 12th
National Honor Society
Piano-7 years
Mountain Biking/Cycling-8 years/ 14 hours a week... this is my major activity

My essays were good, from what I could tell. I am a military kid so I wrote about living in Japan for four years.
My recs were great.
I did not have an interview, but I did visit the school during an open house.

So what do you guys think.....should I worry?????
Thanks

As you already said, most of us have no idea what we're talking about- pure speculation, really :)

All I can say is that everyone I have encountered in the admissions office at D'son emphasizes the "finding students who fit the school" aspect of the process. Rather than playing purely a numbers game, Dickinson takes the approach of finding well-rounded students who will enrich the campus.

That being said, I think admissions is a crapshoot. Therefore, I think it could go either way in your case. You certainly are not out of the running. However, your stats aren't in the top 25%, which I would say would make you more of a "shoe-in". You stand a decent chance. Rather than speculate on your chance, I'll let you know my stats and you can infer what you wish from them (I was accepted EA and received the John Dickinson Scholarship & an Engange the World Fellowship):

SAT: 700(m)/660(cr)/670(w)
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.8uw/4.3weighted
middle-class caucasian female from Pennsylvania
attending a decent public school in suburban PA (approx. 60% of seniors go on to 4yr college)

Volunteering: Various orgs.- approx. 25 hours with one, no more than 5 hours each with 3 or 4 others

Best of luck to you. Dickinson is a wonderful place (I will be there in the fall).

Thanks a bunch
