Where do we choose our meal plan? I submitted my SIR on Thursday and my housing app today and it never talked about meal plans on either document. How and when do we pick out the meal plan?

I just wanna make sure that I don't miss the deadline on that because I wouldn't wanna be forced to be anorexic or anything next year

are u guys sure 14 premiere is good? i mean 14 meals per wekk for ppl who dont go home at all.
and also, it says that 19 standard is cheaper than 14 premiere... why is that so?

thanks for ur help ppl!

The reason why 19 Standard is cheaper than 14 Premiere is because people don't take advantage of 19 Standard's additional meals, since no one actually eats three meals a day - on a Premiere plan, they can store the meals and convert them into drinks/smoothies/sandwiches etc. so nothing goes to waste. What kind of person regularly eats breakfast in college, anyway?

you pick your meal plan when you get your housing assignment. You pick the meal plan you want and send in the corrosponding initial payment.

I think 14 premier is more than enough - I had so many meals left over at the end of each quarter last year (hence, I picked 11 cub this year), even though I never went home. It really depends on how much you think you'll be eating in the dorms. I'm never up for breakfast, and I'm usually on campus for lunch, so 11 meals a week is almost more than I need.

19 regular costs less than 14 premiere because with 19 regular, your meals don't roll over week to week. You're really just paying for that roll-over option, and the ability to swipe more than once per meal period (regular meal plans can't do this)

amen to that :)

oh ic...
"convert them into drinks/smoothies/sandwiches" u cant convert using standard 19?

and also, why is blue 14 and 14 premiere the same price as well for 1 room 2 occupancy? lol is this a typo?

Out of curiosity, what is it that seems difficult about picking a meal plan?
Let's say you live in a residential hall with one other roommate. For me at least, the only meal plans that make sense for me would be 14 Blue through 14 Gold premier. Since I'd probably eat on campus most of the time, with at least occasional breakfast, I'd probably want a 19 premier.

Even if I didn't eat breakfast, 14 something would still be good. If you're contemplating 14 premier, why wouldn't you just go with 19 premier? There's only a less than $200 difference per year right? Which is peanuts compared to the amount you're paying for everything else.

wow people going off on tangents here....I just asked when we sign up for the meal plan people....

Icarus already responded to you...he said you pick when you get your housing assignment...

hmm, does anyone know when we get our housing assignments. i really hoping i don't get a triple....

Yeah I know shinseki12 I was just making an observation

And housing assignments come May 20 or so I hear...anyone wanna confirm that?

I had the same question as uclaclassod2009.

200 bucks isnt exactly peanuts. i could buy a lot of peanuts with 200 bucks...

but anyways its about NOt wasting money over food that u wont eat so picking the right one means efficiency.
