Submitted UCLA appeal before April 1st

UCLA appeal website said links will open for submission on April 1~April 15. However on March 30th they opened the link for submission and changed the date to March 30~April 15.

So I submitted my appeal on March 31st and then they changed their dates back to April1~April15 LOL. Did anyone submit their UCLA appeal before April 1st ? My portal didn’t changed and in past threads, people had their portal changed to pending… should I be worried?

You should contact UCLA for things like this, people on College Confidential are not Admission officers, they dont have the right answer.

would be cool if theres ppl here that submitted their appeal could tell me if their portal changed to pending

@giriboy I submitted mine on April 2nd and it still hasn’t updated to pending. So I think you’re alright. When you log into the appeals site, as long as you see your submission in the box and you’re not able to edit it, then you should be good.

@SillyJillie423 thank u!!!

how long was your appeal if you dont mind me asking? Mine was ~3000 characters but it looked super short lol

@giriboy Mine was 4675 characters, which looked kinda long to me but I said all that I felt I needed to say. I just wish it would update to “pending” so that I can have something to look at on my admissions portal that isn’t my rejection letter lmao

is there anyone else who submitted their appeal to changed to pending yet?
it’s been a week for me already…

Mine just changed today, april 11th.

Mine changed today too!

Just checked, mine changed!

I thought submitting earlier would make them read my appeal faster but I guess that was false haha.

@giriboy If you don’t mind my asking, what did you write about for your appeal? I’m just getting so anxious and want to talk to someone about this whole thing because I don’t really know anyone who appealed.

Okay guys how hard is it too appeal UCLA’s decision? I haven’t been rejected yet because they haven’t posted anything on the portal. I was told a few months ago by UCLA representatives that if i had a 3.66 i would be considered for the pre-communications major even if the GPA requirement was a 3.7. I would have had a 3.7 but in the beginning of community college I thought I wanted to be a nursing major until I found communication and I ended up getting a few Bs in those classes. I am a student living with epilepsy so I have had challenges throughout my life. Yesterday, I talked to a UCLA rep. and she basically told me I was not even considered for the major my the comm. department because I didn’t meet the GPA requirement. I was shocked. I mentioned my disorder briefly in the application, but I didn’t make it seem like a big deal, because I did not want that to hurt my chances. UCLA is my #1 choice because I need to be close to home. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

@confusedgirl23 appeal is almost impossible, about 1~5% chance? but it doesn’t hurt to try, which is why I appealed.
