Submitting A Reading List?

One or two of my schools require me to submit a list of books I've read in the past year. An avid reader, I've read everything from Oscar Wilde to Solzhenitsyn to Socrates. Most of my schools don't ask for a reading list, but I was thinking that it could potentially help. I'm homeschooled, so would it be a good idea to have my mom send it along w/ my transcript? I guess the next step would be to contact the schools and see if they would take it, right?

A personal reading list that you send in with your application (usually as part of a "what else should we know?" optional question response) should be helpful at many colleges. A lot of young people don't read much these days, but good readers thrive in college in most cases.

I think homeschoolers are often asked for reading lists as one of the things that they can/should submit (from what I've read of applications) -- and, if reading is meaningful for you, and you're reading stuff as good as that, you should definitely put it down. :)

I would contact them to see, it should be ok

If it's important to you, definitely stick it in a section like "Additional Info"!

(By the way, Oscar Wilde is one of the best writers ever. :))

^Meh. Shakespeare's better. :)
