Under the specific colleges, there is an “activities” tab. Within this tab, for some schools, there is a place to attach a resume if we so desire. Is this a good idea? Would you recommend attaching one if we have one already made?
I think it shouldn’t really be necessary to attach a resume when the rest of the common app should really be your resume and adequately describe all your activities and attributes.
Not all the schools have the option to attach a resume. For those that do, if it allows you to elaborate on things, I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t attach one given that the activities list on the common app allows for only so many characters…
It’s not necessary and can be a hassle when it merely repeats what you already wrote. You should spend the time organizing the Activities section logically, rather than use a resume to list every single thing you ever did. If one or two things need elaboration (and that’s rare,) add a line or two in Addl Information.
Adcoms aren’t looking for a biography. You want what’s most relevant to your admission review. You don’t want to slow them down poring over a resume, only to find it’s just a repeat.
The difference is if a college specifically requests this. Not just whether there’s a link.
Is it important how you list the activities 1 thru 10. Do yiunlist the one that looks best first or the one you spent the most time on or the one that is associated with your chosen major.
Is there any way to reorganize once you enter?
