Ok, on the Oxford website they ask for a 1300 CR + Math score or 2100 all 3 subjects combined, plus 3 5's on APs/ 3 700+ SAT II score minimally for application for international students (from the US) to Oxford in the undergrad application... But I'm wondering they don't mention whether the American High School Diploma is necessary to submit on the UCAS as well.... I know many other UK schools such as St Andrews and LSE require it... But since Oxford doesn't mention it should I not put it on? I'm asking because on a couple subjects outside my concentration I didn't do so well and I feel like it would hurt my competitive edge should I submit it and it's not necessary. Would love any int'l Oxford students would know what to do about this. Talked to some British friends I know and I understand the A level system is completely different, more like the US AP system than regular grading system if I'm correct...

Nobody asks for your diploma (most people don’t have one when they apply anyway)- do you mean transcript? St A’s is practically American & actually cares about GPA. Unless things have changed in the last 2 years, LSE is interested in your APs not your transcript. Oxford isn’t interested in your transcript either, for the same reason: they have no way to compare grades, GPAs or even class rank between schools. Moreover, they are not particularly interested in how you do in subjects that are not relevant to the subject you are applying to study. So, if you are applying to do chemistry, how you did in english is of no interest- and vice versa.

Btw, there are a couple of helpful threads over at the student room (the UK version of cc) - look for americans applying to oxford and americans applying to UK universities.

@collegemom3717 Yes I mean transcript – St A’s lists it as “American diploma” on their site. I believe LSE asks for a minimum GPA and transcript now according to their site, but since Oxford doesn’t even bother mentioning it, I wasn’t sure. Thank you for your help! :)
