Submitting Application before Scores Arrive

Hello, I am considering SCEA. I have appeared for October SAT and ACT (both scores are yet to arrive), and also appearing for November SAT Subject Tests. I have completed my application, got all recommendations, transcripts, and other required documents.
SAT Scores arrive this October 27th and ACT Scores arrive somewhere in mid-November. Should I wait till then or submit my application marking my testing requirements as “Planned”?
Do colleges wait for scores to arrive before reading the application or do they make a preliminary decision based on other parts of application?

Yes, submit your application now. Scores can come later, as long as colleges have said you can use those testing dates for SCEA.

You have no option to delay on the application. It must be submitted by the Nov 1aaplication deadline. If you submit it after Nov 1, you will not be considered for SCEA. Test scores can arrive after Nov 1. Typically, your file will not be viewed to determine admission until it is “complete,” meaning it has everything in it that is required to be submitted, including test scores. Moreover, even if some of the tests are not required (such as subject tests which are recommended by those having SCEA but not required), as long as you put on your application that you will be taking and submitting them, they will wait for them before making a decision.

Also be aware that for SCEA colleges like Harvard, Yale or Princeton that accept Nov test scores, it is highly advised that you designate the college in your test registration as one to receive scores automatically upon release to assure they get to the college in time to be considered. In other words, do not wait until Nov scores are released to order scores sent.

Thank you for all your answers. I’ve applied early (before my ACT scores arrive)
