If you submit an application through the college's website, and they require a teacher rec, its so much work for a teacher to write the same thing for example 7 different schools. I dont know if i want to use the common app for certain schools, because some skools offer it free on their site and its easier in general to use online college site apps instead of the common app. I dont feel that sending the same app to 7 skools is the best thing to do.

So my question is this: How do i get out of this dilemma? Do i forget using skool's own apps instead using the common app for all my skools, all of whom accept it? Or do i use the sites for those that have theirs on their site? How do i use teacher evaluations if i dont want to inundate my teacher with 5 forms, but i still want that teacher to fill out my recs? Can i use the common app teacher recs and send in the app online through the college's own site?

I have the same problem; I'm more comfortable using the colleges' own applications... but I'm worried that my teachers will be very bothered writing so many personalized recommendations.
Anyone have any ideas?

I think teachers do one rec and mail to schools student requested. They just replace the school name. It's no biggie like Red06 said. If you have a choice of submitting online or paper app, I would recommend filling out the paper app. From own experinece, I am fairly convinced the poorly formatted online app was a factor in my son's rejection at the Ivy of his choice. No matter what my son did (and he was a comp wiz kid), the online app formatted his essays, list of honors and ECs in such a poor way that it just garbled up everything. I don't think they have gotten this down pat yet. The school has to reformat the input to condense it for quick read by adcom, BUT MUCH WAS LOST IN TRANSLATION. BELIEVE ME. When I printed out the completed app, I was so disappointed. Having said that, our son did his next apps on paper (yeah along with common app portion online) and the result was different this time.
