Submitting Art Supplement

I am a senior considering submitting an art supplement to two of my top choice schools (Penn and Princeton) for the past few weeks. I have taken art classes at my school for the past four years and have held a leadership position in our National Art Honor Society for the last three. Our NAHS is very active, but other than that I basically haven't participated in any programs outside of school because they are simply too time-consuming in addition to my art projects for school and my classwork (I am currently the valedictorian of my class).

I've participated in a number of art shows throughout my state and was recognized last year in one of them. I don't consider my work to be "extraordinary," but fairly decent and on par with that of my many of my classmates who have already received encouraging reviews from art schools. My art teacher has also agreed to write a letter of recommendation for me.

Basically, will it help or hurt me to submit this?

bump - Anyone willing to give me some advice?

I think it will help you if you have done good quality work. I am in AP Art Portfolio currently, and like you have participated in 4 years of Art. For me, I didn’t submit an art supplement 1) because it takes a long time to put together a portfolio and 2) most importantly, my major is in Biology so I didn’t think to submit art (I submitted a research abstract)

If you are majoring in art or are considering pursuing it substantially in college, submit it. Otherwise, it may hurt you if the artwork isn’t excellent. again, I can’t say anything for sure since I don’t know how good your art is.
