I would like to include some artwork that I have done over the years in my application to Cornell. They are all my highest quality sketches that I have chosen from a collection that I have from drawing with an art teacher. How should I prepare these drawings to be sent out? They are mostly all bigger than a regular 8.5x11 piece of paper. Is there something specific that needs to be done with them, like make them into slides or something?

ask admissions for specifics, but I think architecture school wants slides

my girlfriend is an archi and she made a portfolio type thing. Even though she had some huge drawing, she had them professionally copied and scaled down to fit an 8.5-11" sheet of paper. It was expensive for all of her work, but it looks awesome.

architecture has complex and exact requirements. general artwork submissions are different most likely.

yeah i know, i'm just saying it is possible to have the artwork put on a regular sized piece of paper for the application

you tell me; it's your art work. It would be pretty impossible to shrink a 3D sculpture onto a piece of paper now, wouldn't it? ;) Call and ask how you would like them to submit artwork is my advice. It's not a standard part of a traditional college application, so cornell likely hasn't published guidelines on it (if they have they're probably hard to find). For example, the music submissions guidelines are buried in the music department website)
