I am finished my common app and supplement and am applying early decision. I have a November 1st deadline and I really want to submit my application a few days early. But, one of my teacher letters of recommendation isn't completed yet. I know that if you assign the teacher on common app you can submit the application before they are done, but my school uses Naviance, so I can't assign the teacher through common app. Can I submit my application before the letter is done? Has anyone done this whose school uses Naviance? Were there any problems with it?

Best to email the college about your situation. Sometime, just the application is due and other supplemental materials are due in a later date but you should email them just in case.

My daughter submitted her common app before her references were complete, and they showed up at the school portal as soon as they were uploaded by the counselor/teacher. Not sure how they are affected by deadlines, though.

Related to this . . . our school is new to Naviance so I’m unclear on the system of doing the recs. The kid turned all the information in to teachers and invited them through Naviance. Does he still need to enter them or invite them through the common app? Our last time around it was invite through the common app then select recs from the pool for each school.
