Submitting Different Teacher Evals to Different Schools

Hey all,

I had a teacher fill out an online Common App recommendation for me for a particular school. The recommendation was very school-specific (i.e., mentions the name of the school it's for in the evaluation). The problem is that I'm looking to have the teacher do a second different recommendation for another Common App school, but I'm not sure if this is possible. It seems that the system is set up to only allow for one recommendation per student. In other words, only one recommendation per teacher can be used. I don't even know if she has the option to opt for paper forms at this point.

My question is whether or not I can get a second Common App evaluation from this teacher for a different specific school, or if I am stuck asking another teacher to write one that isn't school-specific.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Teachers cannot submit multiple recommendations via the Common App Online system. The same teacher evaluation goes to every college to which you assign them.

Have the teacher go to the Common App website, go to Download forms, and download (or write in the Word form) their generic letter for the other schools, and then send it to the other schools snailmail. (I think this is one of the current shortcomings of the CA, as students can “custom-choose” which teachers to do which recs. for which schools, but teachers can only write one rec. that sits in the system until the various schools access it. At least, that is how I understand it works). We are all saving trees, we hope.
