Searched around but have yet to find a conclusive answer to this. I would like to have my employer submit a letter of recommendation on my behalf, but he has expressed an interest in simply writing a letter using his own formatting rather than using the Commonapp "Rating form". Is it possible for him to upload a PDF of a letter to the Commonapp? Would I be better off just requesting he mail it directly to schools? Appreciate any replies.

The common app’s teacher eval form allows the recommender to upload a document and submit it with the form. It’s fine (and very common) for your teacher to do this. You should still invite him through the common app. It’s generally an easier process than mailing separate recs to each school.

Thanks! That’s the answer I’ve been looking for
