I was wondering how we were supposed to submit them, after noticing my recent status change to: "We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/midyeargrades, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st. "

Are we just supposed to use that link and submit our grades from there? Or would I have to send them through an official online transcript site such as Docufide or mail it?

Edit: I also received another letter in the mail today from USC. Yesterday, I received notification that I wasn’t being further considered for the two main scholarships(I applied by the December deadline). But today, I received an additional letter providing a USC publication, “Paying for College”. Not sure if this has any additional impact on my acceptance/rejection, but just thought it would be helpful to list.

I’m also curious: I haven’t gotten a specific request for the grades, so at this point, would I just submit them online and then only send a transcript if they request the grades?

I am on the same boat… They asked me to send the grades through that online system but my school doesn’t send any official mid-year reports automatically… so do I have to send an official transcript w/ 1st semester grades again?

The mid-year grades thing is a bit confusing. If you go to the “senior grades” link on the left side of the application page, it says “If you choose to mail them, be sure to write “Mid Year Report” on the envelope to ensure speedy handling.” If you go to the “self report” link, it says “You must send under separate cover, a copy of your official report card received from your high school,” then it gives the address. To me, this means exactly that - the student should send in “copy” of their official report card. Yet I’ve read here that students’ schools need to send them in.

So, my son is doing all three - self reported online, mailed in a copy of his report card, and the school is sending an official dopy. I guess it doesn’t hurt.

it’ll all be worthwhile…the experience (even an illusive one as of these few months lol) of being a part of torjan family is apparently priceless ;D

when USC specifically asks you for the midyear report for the senior 1st semester grades, does this mean borderline? cuz from what i kno, i kno USC doesn’t requests everyone for the midyear report
