Submitting Part I of the application

The Carleton site says the following

Submitting Part I lets us know that you consider yourself an applicant, even before you complete the full application process. This helps us keep in touch with you and guide you through the process. Carleton waives the application fee for those who submit Part I.

I've submitted Part I a month ago but I haven't gotten any sort of confirmation via email or any communication through the email address I indicated in the application (Though I still get the "Come and look closer" stuff through a different email address - but I've gotten no confirmation that Carleton received Part I through that email address either).

Also, is submitting Part I kind of a tip factor (i.e., showing interest)? Should I just ignore it or submit it again?

Don’t submit it again. You’re way early, and they’ll definitely send you notification in the fall.

I got an email from them (after I asked it on the Admissions site) saying they haven’t begun processing the applications yet (and they will do so in August).

I got some mail from them in May that strongly urged that I fill out Part I asap which is why I was “way early” :)

Thanks for the reply!

Part I doesn’t actually contain anything that isn’t in the Common App, so it’s kind of a duplication of effort to do it. But it does show them that you’re interested & eager.
