Submitting SIR to USC and UCLA

Hey guys, if anyone can help me answer this question it will be much appreciated!

I have been accepted at both UCLA and USC. I am still waiting on financial aid estimation from USC, however both schools deadline to submit the SIR is June 1st.

After contacting both schools requesting an extension on the SIR, I found out that UCLA won't do it for any reason.

USC, however, will do it if you call the day of and tell them you sill haven't received financial aid.

I am wondering--is there any danger in submitting my SIR to UCLA on June 1st and then canceling it later provided that I get better financial aid from USC?

I really appreciate the help, thanks!

Get the extension from USC.

Accept UCLA, and treat USC as if it were a wait-list situation.

If USC comes up with a better aid package, and you decide to attend, you will lose your deposit at UCLA. That’s all. UCLA can’t force you to attend if you just plain decide that you don’t want to. You don’t have to give them a reason. “My plans have changed” is enough.

that is exactly the answer i was looking for! thank you!!
