Submitting SIR

If I were to submit my UCLA SIR before April 30, would I still be able to find out whether I got into Berkeley?

Yes, it will still tell you. You can even still SIR to berkeley if you wanted, but you would loose the deposit.

why would you send it in to UCLA before you get a decision from berk??

@corrinejay No. People can’t SIR to multiple campuses. If ioi does that he/she might jeopardize his acceptance. I know this freshman applicant who SIR’d to Cornell and UCLA, he got rescinded by both when they found out.

"Each campus that accepts you for admission will issue you a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) form or direct you to a Web site where you can declare your intent to register. Use this form or Web site to indicate whether you accept or decline the admission offer. You are strongly encouraged to wait until you hear from each campus you have applied to before you declare your intent to register.

You may accept admission to one campus only. You may not transfer your acceptance from one campus to another after you declare your intent to register. A $100 nonrefundable deposit must accompany your acceptance."

@shellbelltaylor I want to sign up for summer courses before spaces are filled.

@sunnyseas Thanks for the clarification.

Wow, sucks for the greedy freshman admit…

How did they find out? Cornell and UCLA…

you can sign up for summer courses regardless.

@rawfulmao I have no idea. Probably from some system like the National Clearinghouse. But if Cornell and UCLA both found out, what more if it were between two UC campuses? Just play it safe and SIR to one, period. Guy even had regents. Apparently he SIR’d to Cornell, then found out he had regents at UCLA and sent an SIR in too.

senior year of high school I SIRed to UCD and Cal Poly Pomona and nothing happened… (I didn’t end up going to either one of those schools though lol).
