I was checking my email and noticed an email that I received from University of Chicago.
I was curious about this one section in the email:
The time stamp on your supplement. Your supplement does not need to be submitted at the time that you submit your Common Application. If you need more time on your supplement, please submit your application today and then submit the supplement later in the week.

Doesn't this mean that I can essentially submit the supplement late? I really don't want to submit it late but I feel my essays aren't really that up to par right now. Should I submit it late? Will I be penalized? As long as I submit my common app today, I'd be fine right?
I really don't want to submit my subpar essays... :-(

Umm, I mean, sometimes colleges let applicants take a day extra, but I wouldn’t take the risk personally. But at the same time, being a few hours late isn’t a big deal, because of Time Zone differences. I don’t think an extra afternoon in school and then 3 hours at home will make your essays exceptionally different, considering you have 3-5 hours right now to do it.

I clicked the submit button for my BU supplement at 11:59 last night, but it made me click another Submit button which cause the time to go to 12:00AM. Will they accept it even if it says it was submitted on the 4th, even though it was at literally midnight?
