Hi,
The decision period is due within a week and I am having a terribly hard time deciding. I am thinking about submitting the deposits to both schools. I was wondering if in doing so my admission will really be revoked. I am still waiting to hear about financial aid from the other school, I am still waiting to hear from the other school. Has anyone's admission been revoked? Thanks for helping.

They have a term for that: misrepresentation of intentions. Hint: it's not a good thing.

well i was wondering if anyone did it and what happened? Anyone got caught?

and if yes, how do they catch you?

Well, these schools are sort of in contact with each other, that's how you get caught breaking schools EA/ED rules. However, some one last year did this and just decided in summer, she didn't get caught or anything as far as I know.

Which two schools did she submit contracts to? Did her schools communicate with each other?

I don't know how they catch you, but students have been caught and have had both acceptances rescinded.

Also, one's guidance counselor has to send the transcripts, and ethical GCs may not agree to do so because they know that if the colleges find out that you accepted to colleges, the colleges will not only rescind your acceptances, but they will take revenge on your h.s. by rejecting students in later years who should have gotten in.

woah......

So, how does this work with waitlisting? If offered a spot off of a waitlist and then wanting to switch schools past May 1st, that's a different story? I assume it wouldn't be a problem since there was a commitment/deposit to just one school?

It's all right to rescind your commitment if you come off the waitlist of another school and decide to attend that one instead. You are in the clear as the choice is not there before May 1. All you lose is your deposit.

Hey, do u know whether it is compulsory to live on campus the first year?
Thanks

churalska, depends on the school....most require you to live on campus freshman year but not all..and of course there is always exceptions..
