Submitting your transcript before the application

Hi today my guidance counselor told me that colleges throw away your transcript if they receive it before your application. I'm kind of skeptical. Is this true? And if so what about if teacher and counselor recs come in earlier?

Lol this is certainly not true.

....

haha, my counselor said the exact same thing, a day after i had to explain to her the difference between early action and early decision, but seriously shouldn't people need to take an exam or something on college admissions and such before becoming high school guidance counselors? It's rediculous, my counselors know nothing about applying to any schools other than junior colleges and my local state universities. And it bugs the crap out of me when people think the University of Chicago is a public school. well thats was my rant, but im pretty sure that they wont throw out your transcript if it arrives before your application, though i think that they are required by law to shred it after a year, so don't send it in more than a year in advance and im sure that youll be fine.
