For reading I got: Social Studies/Sciences - 14, Arts/Literature - 14
Those add up to 28, but my score shows 27. Is that how it's supposed to be?

My reading sub scores add up to 26 but i got a 24.

they don't always add up, that is just a grade on each section

They don't add up. That's why the ACT score can't be easily superscored (highest score on each section over multiple testings) while the SAT can.

Yeah I got an 18 on usage/mechanics and 13 on rhetorical skills but only a 29 on English. They add up to be 31 though.

They don't add up. My daughter once got an 18 and an 18 on English (or reading but I think it was English) subscore and got a 35 English. I looked into it at the time and it appeared it was not an error - though it still seemed odd.
