someone asked this in the ACT june thread but with so many replies I'm not sure it'll get answered and I was wondering too. For reading if you got an 18 in both of your subscores why isn't that a 36? Was it just curved harshly this time around?

It is sometimes possible to reach the 18 subscore, but still get one wrong. I had two 18s, but I received a 36.

Well, you could have missed one, in say, the Arts subsection and still gotten an 18 score because the curve was still -1=18, but the overall reading curve would be -1=35.
