Subscores?

I heard that if the retake the ACT three times, colleges will take the highest subscore of each categorey from the tests and give you a new score. Does anyone know if this is for sure? I live in chicago if that makes a difference.

Few schools superscore the ACT. Search and you will find the list. Most do not superscore. They will take your composite from a single test.

This is a link to a list of schools that superscore the ACT.

Some schools that do not superscore will still consider the various subscores in addition to considering your best composite score. The admissions websites of the schools where you plan to apply will likely have details about how each school evaluates test scores.
