Can anyone explain the benefits of a subsidized loan, other than the payment of interest by the federal government? Ex: What's the purpose in taking out a subsidized loan if you don't need to?

Only benefit is that you don't pay interest while in school.

Purpose in taking out a subsidized loan if you don't need to is that you can have extra spending money and not always have to be in a bind.

you dont hav to pay interest until the 6 months after you graduate.

take out subsidized loans for extra expense or take out all the loans and invest in something.

Subsidized loans are nice to put less burden on your parents when it comes to paying for your tuition. I didn't receive any government subsidized loans, but if I did I would've taken it out.

I believe if you cdon't take them they may not be offered the following year in some cases...
