<p>I remember reading somewhere that students are allowed $3000/year in subsidized stafford loans.</p>

<p>Freshman are allowed up to $3500 in subsidized Staffords, sophomores can get $4500, and juniors/seniors up to $5500. The split between sub and unsub is determined by the need remaining after other FA is awarded, but does not include the EFC. In other words, COA less EFC less Other FA = Unmet Need.</p>
