Substituting a supplement essay for Common App essay

I wrote two of the Brown supplement essays (Best Advice and What Don’t You Know), and one was stronger than the other. However, the stronger one (Best Advice) is slightly similar to, and better than my Common App essay. I really want to use that for my Common App essay and use the What Don’t You Know essay for the Brown supplement. Is that ok?

My CA essay is about acupuncture and what I learned from it and how I applied it to my schoolwork and life. Reveals my culture and academics.
My Best Advice essay is about my dad’s advice to me- very personal and simple but everyone liked this the best.

Both have a similar theme. But I don’t think it’s a good idea to use a college’s supplement essay in lieu of the Common App… right?

One of the common app essay prompts is “a topic of your choice.” So you can use an essay about anything you want there. I see no reason why you can’t use one of the Brown supplement essays as your common app essay.

I don’t know… I just thought it would look bad. I mean, I thought supplement essays are supposed to show a different side of you that wasn’t mentioned on the Common App or something. So if I use Brown’s own supplement essay as a Common App essay, they might look down on me.
