<p>I was wondering if I could use someone's initial in my esssay instead of their actual name. My essay is about one of my friends and she has a very unique name so I kind of want to "protect" her identity... </p>

<p>I think that is fine unless you just want to make up a name and use that instead.</p>
<p>Yeah maybe make up a name, or a nickname instead. The names and arbitrary (kind of) things like that wouldn’t really matter to an admissions counselor :)</p>
