Substituting submitted recommendation letter?

Hi, I need some help.
My counselor had submitted her recommendation letter via CommonApp, and has realised that there are mistakes in the recommendation letter she had included.

Is it possible for the letter to be changed?

If not, is it okay to start over with a new account, completely erasing all the work on the current account? (I have no option to remove her as my counselor now as she had submitted the counselor form)

Thanks in advance.

She needs to use the “Optional Report” to correct the errors from the first submission. You won’t be able to remove her as a recommender now that she has submitted something, and she won’t be able to start a new account to erase everything she has already done.

@Kev8507 Thank you so much

hey! I got the same problem with you. i check the optional report, it’s for transcrpt, nor recommendation. common app can’t be changed once teacher submitted the letter. if you solve your problem, please @ me. i am worried about this too

@Kev8507 @kaveallen Hi! I emailed Stanford and Princeton regarding the issue. Stanford allowed the emailing of the new substitute letter directly to them. So far Princeton has responded but have not resolved the issue.

I think it is best to advise applicants to directly contact the college – the things that CommonApp can do are really limited.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
