Subtle situation, please help!

I'm posting for a friend

He got rejected by Cornell this year and was admitted to Umich, Oberlin, Macalester
But he loves Cornell so much that he is planning to transfer to Cornell after one year.

So , i'm asking you guys, which one of these 3 schools do you believe is gonna be easier for that future transferring? A probably econ/philosophy major. Thx in advance!!!

He should choose the institution that offers him the best financial aid. If that is not an issue, he should choose the institution that he would be happy staying at for four years if his transfer application next year fails.

^yes, but he should also consider prestige/rigor. A 3.5 at the best school is better than a 3.5 at the worst. Of course I’m not experienced but that seems logical if he is determined to do his best academically.

Since there’s no guarantee that he will be able to transfer after one year or even two, he should pick the school that’s the best for him financially, academically and socially and enter next fall with a positive attitude.

^^^
Agree with happymom and entomom. Cornell could possibly reject him a second time. Then he’s stuck at a school he doesn’t want to spend 4 years at.
