I'm coming to NYC in five days for Gallatin Orientation and I'm wondering what the best (cheapest + most reliable) mode of transportation would be to get me from Newark Airport to campus. Thanks! My flight arrives around 11 PM, and I'm hanging out at the airport until 7 AM when I'll head to campus.

Cheapest is probably to take the Air Train to the Newark Liberty Airport Train Station, then take a NJ Transit train to Newark Penn Station, then a Path train to 9th Street.

But if I were you I'd splurge at a hotel for the night, either at the airport or in the city.

Get a hotel near EWR. You can get a decent room at the Hilton there for like $97+tax/night so you should be able to find a decent room thru priceline. Hanging out at the airport seems tiring and dangerous to me.

i once got a taxi ride from Newark to NYU for only 20 bucks (and I split the far w/ another student so it only ended up being 10 bucks...crazy and awesome, I know). Usually I hear it is about 35 (w/ tip) or so. subway/air tran is the way to go if you don't have much luggage.
