success stories: terrible hs record, great college record after ONE YEAR?

anyone with transfer success stories with
1. a terrible hs record
2. a great college record (only one year however)

i know there's this http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/465387-success-stories-bad-hs-record-w-great-college-record.html but most of them are junior transfers.

i know there's a lot of influence on your hs record if you're applying as a sophomore.

depends on the university.

for example…USC only looks at your HS record if you apply with less than 30 units. but if you apply with more than 30 units, they only look at your college records :)

here is my short transfer success story

 1. no SAT scores, ditched almost every class, failed english twice, and somehow graduated with a 2.07GPA.
 2. 3.88 GPA, lots of EC’s, transferred to USC.

i transferred in 1.5 years and am a sophomore at USC. but after this fall i will be a junior.
so even though i spent 1.5 years doing this, you can also apply in a year if you can complete 30 units. i had 50 units.

like i said, it varies by institution. some colleges will take a minimum amount of units, while some dont care. i suggest you do some research at the college you want to transfer too :)

transferring in 1 year without the college looking at your HS record usually means you took AP credits. but if you took AP credits that also usually means you were fairly smart in hs lol. gl!

i see. thanks!

me. HS gpa 2.7

now im at NYU.
