I hope everyone isn't freaking out too much now that application crunch time is in order.

I remember this time of year very fondly. :) I know it can be tough, but you gotta pull through it!

While I couldn't find my copy of my actual Stanford application (I did SCEA), I did find my resume and essays from that time period. They're at the links below.

I hope this helps. Please don't steal my essays, Richard Shaw will notice, trust me.

Also, feel free to message me if you have any questions about Stanford in general. I'd love to help out, although I'm not the best person for looking over essays (but I'll give it a whirl as long as I'm not too busy).

I guess the best advice I can give is to spend a LOT of time on your essay and short answer responses.

From nearly everyone I talked to about the Stanford app process, they all said the people here prefer building a profile based on the depth and uniqueness of an applicant's responses.

Right. I actually did not send my resume with my app to Stanford; however, I included it to give an idea of what I put in my application.

I did, however, send my resume along with a cover page and the additional essay to every other school I applied to in an entirely separate package. I would probably still recommend this, as it makes you stand out. It also gives you a reason to call up the admission office to confirm that "Your Package" was delivered successfully.

what did you write about for your intellectual interests and roommate essays?
what were your SAT Reasoning scores?
which of the two big essays did you send to Stanford?

I'm not applying to Stanford, but I had to post to say a) thank you for giving us '11ers an idea of what kind of essay is accepted, and b) I loved both of your essays. The courtroom one was excellent, and I "aww"ed at the first kisses one. I'd been contemplating writing one about my first kiss for NYU but ultimately scrapped the idea because I didn't have time and had other acceptable essays on hand; I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who had that idea.
