Successful AP Rescore Stories?

Well if you weren’t happy with your first score you wouldn’t be happy with your second score so I guess nothing changes. Good luck to everyone attempting a rescore!

Ok, but does your rescore, no matter if its lower, still replace your old score?

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

I’m not completely sure, but I’ve heard that if the rescore comes back lower, they’re supposed to let you decide whether you want the replacement or the old score.

Got my rescore back. The 1 on Calc BC and AB remains :frowning: I know I didnt do that bad. My FRQ booklet hasn’t come back yet.

They haven’t even cashed my check its been awhile now…what should I do?

I also got my rescore back for AP Language. The 3 remains. However, my teacher told me that the exam was tricky this year. The FRQ booklet still needs to come in though.

^When did you send in the letter and check?

I forgot the date I sent mine but it was cashed on the 20th

I sent my letter and check in either July 13/14. I don’t know when the check was cashed in though.

Mlover15, that’s interesting. My teacher always ridiculously hard practice tests from barrons to prep for exam day, and a lot ppl like me only got half correct, which yields a 3. But after results came back, most of my friends and I got a 4. Either the exam was tricky, or we went on hardcore intelligence mode during the AP lol.

Dirkslam41, Hmmm… that’s the first that I have heard. Interesting. Hey, it passed, and now it is time for a new school year!
Another update, my FRQ booklet came in the mail.

why do ppl order their booklets? It’s not like they come critiqued.

^To make sure College Board didn’t lose it.

Yeah I got my rescore request back, and nothing changed! They should really look at your FRQs too, I know forsure I didn’t do that bad. Ugh, Collegeboard is awful.

Got my rescore back yesterday…the 3 in Lang/Comp remains. mlover15, I agree that some of the questions this year were quite tricky, perhaps more so than those of previous years, but the people who got high scores must’ve figured them out, so it’s not really an excuse for either of us. delete3x, I’m with you on thinking that the FRQs should also be rechecked. Especially with the humanities APs, the FRQs are graded subjectively. If the readers don’t like your writing style, no matter how good your arguments are, your scores could be low, and there’s not much you can do. Just try to forget it and move on.

If anyone wants a chronology of my rescore process:
7/19 Request mailed
7/30 Check cashed
8/16 Result received

Good luck to everyone still waiting for a result! :)

Still waiting for my results…the check was cashed a few days ago, so I should be receiving something quite soon…not sure if I want to, to be perfectly honest >_<

Bump bump bump.

Lets get some success stories in here! Just went through the last couple pages and nothing but denied requests. Don’t bother even checking for a glimmer of hope. Sorry. Buuummmp. :)

I know that this thread is really old but does anyone have any experience of going from a 3 → 5 on an AP test? I just received my AP World score today and the “3” was really shocking. I thought that I was at least at a high 4.

@Wskimo, I’m in a similar situation… I received a 3 on my AP Japanese test earlier this week, and I was expecting a 5 or at least a 4 at the least. I think if we’re both confident of our scores, we should just get a rescore.

Has anyone ever gotten a successful rescore on a foreign language AP test? I’m wondering if mistakes are less likely on those because foreign languages test using a computer program.
