Successful Appeal...some questions

Hi all, I successfully appealed my rejection, and was admitted for the Spring Semester. I am very excited about the possibility, but also very torn as I had focused my thoughts on the school I committed too. I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can clear up for me...

Is Housing Guaranteed for Spring Admits?

How hard would it be to transfer into my desired school (Marshall)? I want to major in undergrad business, so if going to USC means I can no longer do this, I'll probably stay at my current school. I don't mind having to work to get into my desired school, as long as it is a possibility?

For Spring Admits
How hard is it to make friends? I feel like social groups will already be formed and I'll be left out....

Is it possible to graduate on time if I attempt a four-year university in the fall?

Thanks all.....

…anyone?

i can tell you what my son’s experience has been like as a Spring admit 2010. He went to a community college in the fall and found it very hard when his high school friends all seemed to be going off to college and he was still at home. But thru the spring admit facebook page that someone started he was able to meet some USC spring admits that lived in his area and they hung out together. When my son arrived on campus and got settled into Founders (which by the way is an off campus dorm) he found out all his roomates were spring admits as well. In fact there were many on his floor and elsewhere all moving in too. He started right away to rush for a fraternity and thats where he found some of his closest friends. I asked him when he moved back home this week if he felt being a spring admit was a good decision and he said “Yes! i have gotten to know so many people. i walk on campus to class and say Hi to about 10 to 20 firends before I even get into class. I am ontrack with the kids from my high school who left a semester before me. I love my classes. I loved the dorm i lived in. It was the best decison i have ever made and i can’t wait to go back”

By the way my son filled out an application to transfer into Marshall from CLAS a few weeks ago and he will hear back in June.

Here’s the info for the internal trasnfer process:

[USC Marshall Undergraduate Program Admissions Internal Major Applicant](http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergradprogram/admissions/admissions-internal-major-applicant.htm)

Sometimes you can also transfer at orientation if you contact them ahead of time.

At spring admit orientation some schools will transfer you during that day. If not, after a semester or two, with good grades you can transfer. I have not heard of someone who wasn’t granted their transfer.

Yes, spring admits make friends. My daughter met her best friend (to this day) in class her first week. Get involved, have fun!

I agree ellebud. I think spring Admits become closer than regular admits.

Students change classes at the end of the semester. Everybody will be in new classes.
I suggest you join some group or organization, do service, join in the RA’s trips/events. It will not take long to become acquainted.

SC will have an orientation in December for the spring admits. It will be another opportunity to meet other students. Facebook Class of 2014 has a group for spring admits. Read the discussion and see what they are planning.
