I plan to write appeal letters to UCB and UCLA. If anyone successfully appealed to UCB or UCLA, please give me some tips! Share what you wrote in your appeal letter.. etc.

Appeal their admission decisions? I would recommend against it. If they have any spots open they will be going to WL…

The deadline for appealing to UCLA and UCB was april 15th…

I’m a transfer student from cc, so I have until May 15th. If you guys have any useful info let me know!

Is it true that we have to wait until WL is done with? My friend had tag and didn’t even get into ucsd. does that make sense???

Even if we have to wait until the WL is done with, why not just appeal if you got rejected from the school you really wanted to go to? Since, you already got rejected you’ve got really nothing to lose when you do appeal! I also have a friend with tag got rejected from ucsd, but got into ucla without anything. So at this point, nothing really seems to make sense to me.

read what i posted here:

I appealed and found out today that I got in :D

My Drumline captain appealed through ucla’s marching band and got in

@marix123: mind asking what you wrote about? & are you a transfer from cc? do you have any tips to successfully appeal?

@Anacondrea: thanks for the great info.

what do you mean appealed through uclas marching band? how did he do it? what does that mean?

@ willgotouc: I was a transfer and was rejected from UCLA. I appealed and was admitted, but that’s only because they thought I was missing a prereq that I wasn’t.

Basically, in nearly all cases, appeals only go through if they made a mistake or if you have -really- compelling new info…like retaking a failed course and getting a huge spike in your GPA.

Do you think they could have somehow made a mistake with your application?

@emilsinclair9: i called ucla and the reason for my rejection was failing to complete at least four of the prereqs by end of Fall 2010 semester. By end of Spring 2011, I will have all the prereqs done except for one. Do you think I can appeal addressing that issue?

@ willgotouc: I know it’s harsh, but UCLA is the worst when it comes to prereqs :/. They are so stringent. You have to have all prereqs done by the end of spring in order to transfer. I know many 4.0 CCC students that were rejected for missing a prereq.

@emilsinclair9: reality hurts, but with some luck maybe a miracle can happen for me. I wrote my appeal letter about some hardships and what i learn from them. At this point, all I can do it do what I can and hope for the best!
