Successful Transfers

Has anyone on this board successfully transferred to HYSPenn or Columbia?

i have a friend who transferred to columbia from tufts.

recently, someone i went to high school with transferred from tufts to stanford, and that is the only person i know that has transferred into one of those schools.

frrrph transferred from a california CC to Yale.

Not on your list but just a selective, ClaySoul transferred from Tulane to Brown.

dang. any common thread between htese guys?

No, and IMO you're not going to find one. The number of transfers accepted to this level of schools range from about 20 (S) to 40 (H & Y) to maybe a little over a hundred per year, that's an extremely small number. Then you take the College Confidential subset of these people and what you end up with are case studies, a few random data points. Add to that the fact that the variables that went into why those data points were accepted out of all of those that applied are even more complex than for freshman year (coming from 2 or 4 year college, reason for transfer, HS vs. college record, etc.)

I know 1-2 people who transferred into Columbia, and several into Cornell (though that wasn't on your list). Two into UPenn (Wharton). All were from my school and my year.
