Hi, just wondering if you guys have heard of anyone successfully appealing to a UC, and actually getting in. If you do know anyone that has, would you be so kind and post what they did to make it successful?

One of my friends appealed and got into UCSD because she had forgotten to send her ACT test scores.

I was a transfer from UC Merced and I had to appeal to UC Berkeley in order to get in. It was under very unusual circumstances though. Without going into a lot of detail, my appeal was successful because it was written on the basis of an error being made. In my opinion, the most compelling reason to appeal is an error being made in your application–that’s the only realistic reason why a UC would reverse their admissions decision.

I think the two teacher recommendations I sent in probably helped, as well as my strongly worded appeal, but I can’t be sure.
