Hey fellow CCers,

First of congrats on your UC admissions! I'm a transfer and got accepted to UCSD but am looking to appeal for UCB and UCLA.
Can anyone PM me their successful appeals? I'm looking for inspiration to write mine and want to see what kind of information people put in theirs. Also, would anyone be willing to read mine when done?

Thank you so much!

If people don’t mind posting it here as well - that would be great.

yukianesa- what is your major and gpa?

they’re reviewing my application right now because thye made a mistake, they said they’d let me know by early next week so hopefully I get in :].

Did they contact you about your mistake? Or did you contact them? Thanks.

^^^^^^

yes i would also really like to know this.

I’m a Media Studies/Communications Major with 3.5 GPA and excellent ECs. I think it was my PS that didn’t make it :(

yea, communications is sooooo impacted and competitive.

3.5 isn’t going to be enough in communications. Average gpa for communications at UCLA is a 3.94

there isn’t really grounds for appeal, they probably rejected you due to GPA =[ sorry

I too think my essay brought my app down - it was mediocre as I think back in retrospect. But I’m curious as to how many American Studies majors applied/got in. I know @altschool didn’t either. =[

i know there is no point in appealing to haas but man some people with wack stats got in.

^^ I thought I saw someone on these boards with a 3.6-ish get into HAAS. I had to rub my eyes again to make sure I was not seeing things…but then again who knows. Maybe I was hallucinating :D

yeah i wouldn’t be surprised but hey there’s always next year

Realistically, what are you going to write on your appeal? That is a significantly low GPA for the major and I don’t know what else you can say/do to make them look over your application again.

2 nabilesmail:

How did you find out that they made a mistake? Did they contact you, or did you call?

you guys should find my thread. Its like “So I called UCLA and I think they made a mistake!!”

I explain the whole process there so far haha.

Their reviewing my case and will let me know either monday or tuesday/ :]

I found it. Thanks a lot, and best of luck to you!

No successful appeals received so far :(

Let’s just do our best, appealees! Good luck for all of you!

you can’t call UCB and asked why you were denied.

You can only do that for UCLA
