such thing as dual-degrees??

i was wondering if our primary major is business, how feasible is it to also have a minor (if possible) in engineering?

can you do a dual-degree?

how intense is engineering at uiuc? (i know its top 5, but u know, describe a typical student)

ps, how long does it usually take to get the acceptance letter (from mail) once you get accepted online?

You should look into the Technology & Management program for business students. I don't think a dual degree between business and engineering is allowed, though.

Hey, Im_Blue was obtaining a 3.9 at UIUC ENG difficult? Also, what major did you study at UIUC, Thanks.

A minor in engineering isn't possible. I think a dual degree with engineering is possible however, but you would have to have a ton of AP credits to be able to fit everything in. Engineering is generally extremely intense, except for some naturally brilliant students. A lot of engineering students switch majors because they simply lose interest and don't want to put up with the rigor of the engineering curriculum.

Like im_blue said, the Tech & Managment program is probably the most feasible option.

will you be willing to elaborate on the Tech and Management program? I'm quite clueless, since I'm not in-state.

In general, it's a minor designed for business majors to get a taste of engineering and vice versa for engineering majors. I talked to someone who did the minor and she said that business majors don't derive as much benefit in terms of learning about engineering because it's fairly difficult to develop a broad understanding of engineering based on a couple classes, whereas it's a little easier for engineers to pick up on business sense based on a few business courses. I've heard that the biggest advantage is that you get to work with many top students from the college of business and engineering. Plus, the classes are generally smaller and exclusive to students doing the minor.
