Sucking up to colleges

Should I even subtly suck up to a college in an essay, or should I just completely not suck up at all?

For example, there's this one line in my essay in which I suck up to a college, and it goes like this:

"I'll always be (insert positive character trait highly desired by colleges) no matter where I matriculate, be it Yale, or another prestigious institution."

Should I excise the word "prestigious"?

Or should I just suck up like that?

You totally should. Most colleges love a subtle brown-noser.

I know if I leave it in the adcom will probably be like “suck-up, lol”

If I delete it the adcom will probably be like “wow this kid has some gall to not take this opportunity to suck up.”

This is if the adcom notices.

Keep the prestigious. Included, the sentence reads better.

lolololol

Calling Yale “prestigious” isn’t going to make them think “awww, gosh, he must think we’re all that.”

Well I just used Yale as an example; I’m not actually applying to Yale, but I don’t want to give away too many details online. Let’s just say that this college is a local state college. LOL. Top 200 by US News standards.

Oh, then definitely. DO IT.

I just hope it doesn’t come across as sarcasm …

LOL I’m probably thinking way too much about this but whatever.
