I currently go to a UC school (from out of state - NY), and have a stinking gpa (in the low 2.0s). I want to transfer to a SUNY school next year (after I hopefully pull up my gpa), and I was wondering if I have a chance at Stony Brook/Binghamton/Albany/Buffalo. I probably shouldn't have taken all those chemistry and lab courses.

My high school gpa was a 4.0, and my standardized test scores were above average...will those help?

dude, whatever you do, don't go to stony brook. Since you are New Yorker like me, I'm sure you know what Long Island people are like. Well Stony Brook is a microcosm of Long Island. I went there last year and I said to hell with that place. It has Boring, unfriendly people that just want to drink. They don't even party, they just get wasted. I have a feeling you are a guy but I'm not sure, just a heads up, the girls at Stony Brook are typical superficial Long Island girls that only want to hang out with their friends all the time and don't give any guy without an armani exchange jacket a chance. I even played Rugby there and it was hard to meet girls. They would just come to the parties to get wasted and flirt with guys to get beer. They don't even put out. Not to say that I'm a player, but they just aren't friendly girls. At what school do the athletes not get girls? Anyway, Binghamton, Albany, or Buffalo sound like much better options. I'd say you have a good shot at any of them, even Stony Brook, but I would highly recommend ANYWHERE BUT STONY BROOK. If you are a girl I apologize for the nature of this post. If you are a Long Island girl, you probably are one of the exceptions to the typical type of LI girl because I don't think most LI girls would be on this forum and concerned about their education. Sorry about ranting, but I've been in Long Island waaayyy too long and I'm telling everyone I can not to go to Stony Brook.
