SUCKY english grade but OK math, science grades.. CHANCES??

ok, I have all my application completed, etc....and am debating on the major choice...
i was thinking of applying to engineering, but it might be way over my ability.

my record:
sat math - 800
CR - 650
writing - 600
sat chem - 760
phys - 730
math 2c - 790

and i have basically, straight A's for all my math and science courses
for math, i have taken BC last year and got 5. now i am taking college level course. for science, i am taking all ap's (took phys c last yr and chem and bio this year)
but like...straight b's for all my english courses.

BUT i am an international student with english as a second language....
what are my chances if my english grades are really sucky??
or should i pick a different major and increase my chance? (or will it even increase my chance if i pick a differnet major?)

hmm thats interesting. your cr isnt bad. if your science is as good as you say then id think your chances are good. and why would you pick a major that you arent even interested in just to get in? pick something you like.

if your an international student with no residency then your chances of getting in are much less. but if your instate its good
