Hi folks,

I'm an international student and I have been accepted in Suffolk University to study MS in Political Science/ IR, however, I'm really not that excited because I wanted BU but they rejected me. Thus, for now I'm working to apply to Boston College for the next fall.

However, my concern is how can I improve my chances to get an acceptance in BC? and what do you think of Suffolk University as MS in PS?

I really need some advices if anyone knows about SU.

Thank you and happy belated thanksgiving :)

plz if anyone is studying at Suffolk i really need to know what do u think of its Political Science Program?

Sullok mUni as in Suffolk UK?

It’s hardly well known. Nice area mind you.

No, Suffolk University in Boston-US not UK

???

Oh ok. My last post has so many typos as to be illegible. I must have hit the wrong keys.

I have never heard of Suffolk University in Boston.

As for how you can improve, you need to provide more information about what you have so those who know something about the field can help. I suggest that you read the “So you want an MA in IR” thread to see what kind profile other applicants have.

thanx guys and i hope if anyone is studying this major at Suffolk University- US could help me becz i have some concerns.

in case if u want to know more about Suffolk University here is the link [Suffolk University Homepage](http://www.suffolk.edu/)

thanx again :)

UAEgirls, you are wise to have concerns about Suffolk in Massachusetts.

Suffolk does not offer the MA or MS in Political Science. They offer the MSPS. This degree is not highly regarded. It will not, for instance, assist a student who wishes to go on to the PhD.

Suffolk is primarily a school for people who are working full-time, and who wish to get some kind of degree in order to merit a pay raise. It is not a degree for someone who has yet to enter the workforce, or who wishes to pursue academia.

I encourage you to apply elsewhere.

Thank you Professor X

But can I know what does MSPS means? because I looked at their academic catalog and it seems they have pretty good courses, but I’m planning actually to start a semester there and then transfer to another university since I’m out of options right now…
Do you think if I have been accepted in another university they will accept the credits that i took in Suffolk?
plz tell me everything you know because i’m really worried
thank you again :)

I cannot say whether any course credits will transfer. That would be up to the department into which you transfer.

Transfer is not common in graduate programs, so it may not be an easy thing to accomplish.

However, since you are planning to go there anyway, the best you can do is get excellent grades in your classes and cultivate relationships with your professors immediately so that they will write you letters of recommendation when you apply to other programs. But be prepared to start over completely.

Thank you Professor X and I’ll try my best :)
